The Assembly of the Colombian Mennonite Church was held at the church
campground in the town of Cachipay, where the church work began 60
years ago. |
Each day there were long meetings to hear reports from the churches and
church institutions, discuss issues, and elect people for various
committees. |
Outgoing president Peter Stucky presided most of the meetings.

|
We enjoyed seeing MCC workers Charlie and Teresa Geiser at the meetings.
|
There were also moments to meet as Regionals (like the Conferences we have in MC USA) to discuss different issues.
|
L-R: Pastor Jaime Guevara (La Mesa), Pastor Eduardo Bautista (Anolaima,
see the Feb. 20 issue of "The Mennonite" for an article about him),
Pastors Martín and Elsy González (Anapoima). |

Sunday evening there was a celebration event commemorating the 60th
anniversary of the church (if you can't tell, we were feeling cold!).
