Several of the persons being baptized, like Edwin here, had powerful testimonies of God's ability to transform lives.

We enjoyed seeing several of the youth group members get baptized, like Gamaliel, who began to take his faith more seriously when he was invited to play piano on the praise team.

David shared about how the youth retreat last fall changed his life.

Lizeth told us about how she and her mother, after suffering a family tragedy, went looking for a church and found a home at La Mesa Mennonite.

It was especially gratifying to see Yuri and Sandra (in back) make this decision. The first came to church when we invited them back in November 2005.

Sandra confessed that this was a sad day because her parents did not support her decision to be rebaptized (she grew up Catholic).

Former pastor Martín González played a major role in the lives of many of the people getting baptized. We were glad to see he was invited to participate in the service.

The water was a little cool that day, as you can tell from Yuri's expression.
